Feedback from last weeks' collaborative workshop;

  • experiment with texture screen/paper pulp

  • Bring in some softer textiles and forms into the environment such as cushions and more screens?

  • Include Pojangmacha's imagery for presentation and development process

  • Use the queen street entrance; this would open up space for a private seating area or gallery space.

  • perspective shots; same place but different times of the day.

Decided to remake the slides for my process work;

Testing out various extruding directions for the fabric which will hang from the ceilings of the seating area/sobans. Although there are already LED panels behind the walls of the seating area, this is making me wonder whether or not I need to add additional lighting or not.

Experimenting with lighting designs for the bar area; I wanted to do something which was more circular and freeform as majority of the interior is quite square. The materiality for this design would be the same black metal, wooden frame with LED light inside the circular form, along with glass for the sphere bulbs. Something about this just didn't seem to fit in with the existing interior however - leading me to my next design.

This was a little bit better in terms of consistent materiality as it would follow the same concept as wooden frames which encase the linen material along with a led strip in-between which will illuminate the picture inside the frame.

Also needed to figure out how to insert stairs which lead up to the seating area without making the passageway/hallway too crowded.

Testing out materiality with the second lighting design, and also decided to add in another piece of Shin-Young Parks prints onto the main wall behind the bar as a statement piece. Also considering adding labels to each artwork or using the back area as a intimate exhibition space which labels each of the artworks spread throughout the interior.
